Community Helping Place offers a wide range of services to the qualifying residents of Lumpkin County. Thanks to the support of our many donors, grants, and volunteers, the impact of our services increases every year.
We currently are able to provide:
The Anne Green Free Clinic
CHP Free Clinic provides Primary Medical and Dental care to homeless, uninsured, or families in need with limited financial resources residing in greater Lumpkin County, Georgia. The goal is to be a true Medical Home that improves overall health and quality of life for its patients.




Food Pantry
Community Helping Place is dedicated to support individuals and families in our community by providing food assistance to those in need.



Summer Food Program for Children
Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation. CHP provides school age children breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the summer. The food distributed by this initiative is focused on items children can prepare and serve themselves. This helps them be self reliant and not need an adult to keep hunger at bay. Items tend to be single serve oatmeal and grits, macaroni and cheese, spagettio’s, peanut butter, tuna, bread, snack bars, and fresh fruit.



Baby and Personal Care Pantry
Clients come to us without basic necessities of personal hygiene that many of us take for granted. Imagine finding yourself without even a a comb, or shampoo, or clothing detergent or deodorant – or a way to just take a shower and get yourself clean. The personal care pantry exists for such a situation.
Community Helping Place offers assistance to parents of Lumpkin County by providing diapers, wipes, formula, and, bottles other similar infant needs.



Spirit of Christmas
The holidays can be a financially and challenging time for families already concerned about money. Fortunately, Community Helping Place offers assistance to help make sure every child gets a visit from Santa. Whether you know a child who needs a gift this holiday season or simply want to make Christmas special for another family, we can help!



Emergency Assistance
When times are tough you can turn to Community Helping Place’s Emergency Assistance program that helps eligible Lumpkin County community residents with rent, utilities, and fuel costs, in addition to clothing vouchers and food. Truly, neighbors helping neighbors.




The Rock House CHP Thrift Store
our primary source of fundraising
The Rock House Thrift Store is filled with clothing, furniture and household items waiting to find a new home. Come shop with us and donate your gently used items to support our food pantry, medical and dental clinics and emergency assistance helping services. We also have e-store on eBay and Poshmark.



Free Transportation
CHP now offers FREE TRANSPORTATION services in and around Lumpkin County for clients in need. We are happy to help transport our clients to essential appointments such as specialty medical care, for outpatient procedures, to our food pantry, to pick up other essentials like propane, for court appearances, case management appointments (here at CHP and with other agencies in our community), to shelters, and to access other community organizations.
