Quarterly Letter from Melissa 1/1/21

As we joyfully celebrate the provision that has allowed us to remain in operation for yet another quarter, we want to reach out and thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

Without you, we would not be able to help clients like Travis*, a well-spoken young man who is now living independently after a period of homelessness. Working in the food service industry during the pandemic with no familial support system, Travis found himself living outdoors during the coldest months of the year. With your help, Travis was given a steady food supply and funds to repair his vehicle, allowing him to find another means of employment. Because of connections with other local agencies and churches, our Director of Client Services was able to help Travis find an affordable apartment that meets his needs. The most exciting part of this story is that we only met this young man in November! It is a testament to the power of community.

So many clients like Travis have been helped at CHP recently because of your generosity. Many of you gave when we know there was little to give, when you faced your own setbacks and when you were dealing with your own extra expenses.

Over the holidays, you blessed CHP with an outpouring of support that made it possible for us to provide Christmas for over 200 families. We hope your heart is warmed when you think of all the children in Lumpkin county who received toys, clothing, books and a family meal because you shared in this work that we do.

On behalf of every client who came to us for food, clothing, medical and dental care, emergency assistance, transportation, a place to shower, or a place to be comforted and cared for, thank you for making it possible for CHP to continue our outreach efforts to neighbors in need.

And now as we enter a New Year- our hope is that you will be blessed and renewed, in the same way that you have blessed and touched so many lives through your giving.

If we can ever be of service to you, please call on us.
